East Coast Trip: White House Tour!

Hi again readers! So a few days ago I posted about Washington D.C. and it’s landmarks. Since this is a larger post I decided to split it up and make a separate post for this one.

After waiting in lines and passing through a thorough security check I stepped into the White House. You always see this American icon on the news and throughout history. The tour itself was a little difficult to book. You first have to apply online and if you get chosen (only some out of all the applicants will) you will get an email or call that confirms your booking. You have to book it at least a few months ahead to allow enough time for the long process.

The tour leads down a hallway to a mini merchandise shop where they sell items that are only sold there in the White House (at least that’s what they say). The tour is self-paced so you can view multiple rooms and paintings throughout the halls. All of the rooms serve a purpose and represent some historic moment or cause.

The pictures above show the presidential movie theater.(I would probably use this room the most 😂😂).

The next rooms were called the red and blue room, which were two separate rooms.

Next, we walked through the ballroom. This was by far my favorite room!

There were multiple chandeliers that made the ballroom feel even bigger!

Near the end of the tour we were shown a walkway, which is special because of it’s use. It is the walkway the president often walks and a place where there have been many pictures taken and news reports on national T.V.

We ended the tour by exiting out into the front yard area. This is the perfect place for family pictures (You just can’t walk on the grass).

The tour was pretty short, but it was fascinating to see and be in the place where so many presidents have lived.

I hope you enjoyed the tour through the White house! It’s so cool to see and I recommend you apply for a tour there!
